Police in Florida seized over 58 pounds of marijuana that was being shipped from Texas.

Investigators with the Jackson County Drug Task force initiated an investigation into the trafficking of large amounts of marijuana on Interstate 10. On February 23, police observed a Ford truck driving erratically on the highway. The car was stopped, and upon making contact with the occupants, police deployed narcotics detection canines around the vehicle. Both canines alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in a toolbox in the bed of the pickup truck. A search of the vehicle uncovered nine packages of marijuana weighing a total of 58.75 pounds.

Digital scales a .40 caliber Glock pistol with laser sights were found during a search of the car’s interior. The three men in the vehicle were all charged with trafficking marijuana and placed under arrest by the Florida Highway Patrol.

All three men were from Texas.
