Galveston ADA charged with DWI

Posted on January 5th, 2011 No Comments

Last month, Galveston County Assistant District Attorney Lester Blizzard was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.  Galveston County Sheriff’s Department officers arrested the ADA on December 29th.  Blizzard was subsequently suspended without pay from his position heading the county’s felony division.

A Galveston County deputy was also arrested last month for driving while intoxicated.  Tino Ramirez has been reassigned while officers investigate the charges.  Blizzard and Ramirez were 2 of 30 people arrested in 30 hours on drunk driving charges in Galveston County.  District attorneys say that special prosecutors will be assigned to both men’s cases to avoid potential conflicts of interest.
