Facebook posts incriminate bank employees

Posted on May 4th, 2011 No Comments

Two Houston International Bank of Commerce employees were recently caught stealing money from the bank after an anonymous tip to police said that postings on social networking website Facebook could incriminate the two workers.

The two bank employees waited until they were both on a late shift to stage a robbery resulting in theft of $62,201 in cash.  Two days before the staged robbery one employee wrote on their Facebook, “Get $$$ (;” and a day after, the employee’s boyfriend wrote on his Facebook, “Wipe my teeth with hundreds.”

In addition, one of the employees’ brothers, who is believe to have been recruited to aid in the robbery, wrote on his Facebook page, “U have to past the line sometimes!! To get dis money” and one of the employees simply stated, “I’m rich.”  The employees, who are in their late teens, say that they were simply talking and the robbery was a coincidence.
