A Houston man has been arrested after he tried to escape from police by climbing on top of an elementary school’s roof. Police pursued the man after seeing him hold a woman in a headlock in a car near Chimney Rock and Gasmer.
When he pulled over for officers, the woman ran out of the car and towards police. She told officers that he had kidnapped her and was high on PCP. He then took off in his car, hitting another vehicle after he ran a red light. Witnesses say they saw the man run for the school after the crash.
Officers followed the man onto the roof where they say he tried to push them off. They finally apprehended him and he faces felony charges of narcotics possession and evading arrest.
