Man faces charges of assaulting police officer

Posted on January 20th, 2012 No Comments

A 21 year-old Houston man has been charged with assaulting a public servant resulting in bodily injury after punching the officer and lunging for his gun.

The officer was responding to an emergency call involving a stolen vehicle when he saw a man inside the car. After the man refused to exit the vehicle, the officer tried to arrest him. The suspect ran off but was apprehended a short time later, which was when he started punching the officer. The serviceman had to use his stun gun to subdue the man.

But even the stun gun wasn’t enough. The man tried to run off again but was caught. He continued to beat the officer and tried to take his gun. The suspect was finally taken into custody with the help of a good Samaritan.
