What is the difference between a DUI and a DWI?

In the state of Texas, there are two separate charges regarding driving while under the influence of alcohol, one for general application to all citizens and another specifically for persons under the legal drinking age. Should a driver test at over .08% blood alcohol content (BAC) following a drunk driving stop, they are guilty of a driving while intoxicated (DWI). For underage motorists, there is a zero tolerance policy for drinking and driving, and an underage motorist can be charged with driving under the influence (DUI) for any amount of alcohol detected in the blood.
